Radiology CT Slicker® Systems are clear, micro matte vinyl protective cover systems that are designed to enhance table sanitation and minimize table maintenance. The covers encapsulate the table cushion. In conjunction with the cover flap system, that simplifies cleanup, and allows more thorough cleaning and disinfection. Better cleaning results in a reduction of contaminant buildups in hard to clean areas. Exposure to blood and fluid borne disease is reduced for the patient, the technician, and for cleaning and maintenance personnel. The fluid control flaps, used on Slicker systems, keep fluids and contaminants from penetrating into the electromechanical components of the table. Table maintenance downtime and costs are substantially reduced. The Slicker’s flaps, and skirts (where used), help to protect table rails and edges from wear and tear.

A CT Slicker Cushion® is a lined foam cushion that is permanently welded inside a Slicker cover to further prevent cushion penetration by fluids and contaminants. All Slicker covers and cushions are easy to install and do not affect normal table usage.

AttenuRad Radioprotective Garments

AttenuRad garments utilize a thin, flexible, non-lead (bismuth)* composition that offers significant radiation protection to the critical tissues including the breasts, eyes and thyroid during CT procedures without producing artifact, phantoms or other distortions in the diagnostic image.

CT Eye Shield

Designed for use in head and facial computed tomography scans, the AttenuRad Eye Shield molds over the nasal bridge with the eye shield portions laying flat over the patient’s closed eyes. No part of the shield covers the bony external orbital rim, otherwise, artifacts may be created. Adhesive material ensures a tight seal with no air gaps. This shield, when utilized for CT of the eyes or face, is cut to a thickness of 4 plys, allowing about a 40% dose savings to the eyes. The AttenuRad radioprotective eye shield is intended as a single-use item because tears easily conduct viral and bacterial diseases.

CT Radioprotective Brassiere

The AttenuRad CT Radioprotective Brassiere has been optimized to a thickness of 4 plys to provide maximum protection to breast tissue while preventing artifact in the diagnostic portion of a thoracic CT image. The brassiere consists of two large panels, one for each breast and adhesive strips. Each panel is specially designed to form-fit the curvatures of the supine body regardless of the patient’s size, providing maximum radiation protection to the medial upper breast, the armpit and other radiosensitive areas. The CT breast shield allows approximately a 50% dose savings to the breast.

CT Thyroid Shield

Positioned over the Adam’s apple, the AttenuRad CT Thyroid Shield is designed to provide maximum protection to the radiosensitive thyroid gland. To ensure proper positioning, a curved notch in the center of the shield is placed at the top of the sternum. An adhesive on the back of the shield holds the shield firm as the patient breathes and swallows. Lateral bow ties are also attached to the inferior flaps of the shield to protect patients with larger necks or larger thyroid glands that extend behind the clavicle or sternum. This shield, when used for the soft tissues of the neck, is cut to a thickness of 4 plys, allowing a 60% dose savings to the thyroid.
